1. Energy Engineer
Meridian Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented energy engineer for new construction projects. The ideal candidate should have a mechanical engineering or related background and an understanding of the commercial building design and construction process. The energy engineer position will primarily involve conducting energy modeling along with site work supporting the company's HVAC commissioning services.
This position will be located in Meridian Consulting's office in Silver Spring, MD with some telecommuting potential.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent work experience

Experience building energy models for commercial buildings

Experience with site inspections and HVAC functional testing is preferable

Technical knowledge and experience with HVAC systems and commercial building design

Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
-
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment

Excellent report writing skills

Strong work ethic, sense of personal responsibility and commitment to delivering high quality work

Proficient with eQUEST, MS Excel and MS Word
Additional optional skills and qualifications:

Commissioning experience

PE, CEM, or CxA certification

2. Sustainability Consultant
Meridian Consulting, LLC is a sustainable design and energy engineering consulting firm seeking a sustainability associate for new construction projects. The ideal candidate should have an architectural, engineering or environmental science degree, or equivalent work experience, and an understanding of the commercial building design and construction process. The candidate must be detail-oriented and have strong writing skills. This position can be part-time or full-time depending on the candidate’s availability. There is also some telecommuting potential.
Qualifications:

Bachelor or Master’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, environmental science or equivalent work experience.

Experience working on LEED, NGBS or Energy Star for New Homes projects is preferred

Experience in the building industry

Project management experience

Technical knowledge and experience with building sciences

Ability to read architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings

The ability to work independently

Commitment to delivering high quality work

Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word
